Hi I'm Hamza, a passionate and versatile Software Engineer with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Maryland College Park. At the heart of my approach lies a strong foundation in diverse programming languages and a keen understanding of modern software development practices. I received my Bachelor's in Computer Science from University of Maryland, College Park in 2022

There I took courses in full-stack web development, app development, AI/machine learning, and a variety of mathematics.

I took a 300 hour couse on APIs and Microservices by FreeCodeCamp. This course consisted of several small projects built with Node.js, MongoDB, and Express

Software Engineer | Qualtrics 2022-Now

  • Developed Golang/Nginx proxy server to anonymize sensitive data for high-traffic services handling 5 million daily requests.
  • Orchestrated a nightly job using Jenkins and Kubernetes to optimize cloud resource utilization across Qualtrics, resulting in an estimated annual cost savings of $20,000 within the US East region.
  • Led the deployment of seven independent applications across multiple AWS regions including Canada, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Conducted comprehensive monitoring and testing of cloud services in each region, fostering a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and microservice architecture.
  • Led initiatives to enhance performance in core REST services using Spring, achieving 2-5 times faster data processing speeds.
  • Participated in a monthly on-call rotation diagnosing and resolving issues ranging from critical failures to minor bugs around the clock, delivered root-cause analyses to engineering leadership.

Software Engineer Intern | Capital One 2021

  • Collaborated with a team of software and data engineers to develop and deploy a data transformation application leveraging Python and Spark.
  • Packaged final product as library to be used by data engineering teams company-wide at Capital One.
  • Optimized major internal databases, shrinking their sizes to just 8% of their original sizes. This significantly enhanced data analysis capabilities and slashed SQL query run times to less than 10% of their original durations.
